Building Your Ideal Private Practice
By Lynn Grodzki (2000)

I regularly use this best-selling guide (and the accompanying handbook) because I like the philosophy and guidance to create a profitable, personally satisfying private practice. Sometimes called the "private practice bible" this book has become a valuable resource. I also subscribe to Grodzki’s monthly newsletter. The focus is on therapists, but it's easily applicable to other types of health care practitioners.

The Business and Practice of Coaching
By Lynn Grodzki and Wendy Allen (2005)

This is Grodzki’s newer book, with a specific focus on coaches. Nothing less than a radical rethinking of the essentials of building a coaching practice, this book is a must read for all coaches, master and novice alike.

Marketing for the Holistic Practitioner
by Michelle Vandepass (2003)

I chose this book after reviewing several books with a focus on marketing for alternative health practices. It includes writing exercises to help practitioners clarify values and look at internal issues like making time for marketing. However, most of content focuses on ideas for marketing (including pricing) advertising, and pricing. Vandepass is a massage therapist as well as a writer.
