A professional review of all elements of your job search plan: resume, cover letter, networking, finding openings, use of web, and interview strategy.

 

2. Job Search Strategy
3 to 6 sessions

Individual sessions for people who have a clear career objective, but are having trouble finding a job that matches their skills and values. As an outcome you will have a strategic job search plan, a cheerleader, a network of professionals in your field, targeted resumes and cover letters, and great interviewing skills.

 

3. Resume and Interview Preparation
2 to 4 sessions

Individual assistance in targeting your resume and cover letters to employers' needs. Collaboratively we will write compelling copy that highlights your strengths and minimizes potential weaknesses. Coaching to develop interview strategies and rehearse responses to the most common interview questions.

 

Services for Career Changers  
4. Career Assessment: What's in here?
4 to 6 sessions

For people who seek clarity about what they really want in a career. Clients clarify their key passions, values, skills, and what they want from their work. As an outcome, you will have a list of two to four career choices that match your interests, values, skills, and financial needs.

 

5. Making a Career Decision: What's out there?
3 to 4 sessions

For people who are clear about their key passions, values, skills, and what they want from their work. You have identified a few options and need guidance in researching them and making a final commitment. This stage includes an analysis of job availability and compensation.

 

6. Finding the Job: Making the Match
4 to 6 sessions

For people who have a clear career objective, but are having trouble finding a job that matches their skills and values. As an outcome you will have a strategic job search plan, a cheerleader, a network of professionals in your field, targeted resumes and cover letters, and effective interviewing skills.

 

Fees:

Earning >$30K per year = $70/hour
Earning <$30K per year = $55/hour
Job Clubs
The Make A Difference Job Club is for people who are seeking work that benefits the community and/or the environment. Meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at World Cup Coffee (corner of NW 18th & Glisan). A friendly, supportive atmosphere in which to exchange resources, job leads, and network. Limited to 15 people. $100 membership for six months or $20 per month.

The Job Club for Creatives is a group for creative people in all fields: designers, writers, fine artists, performers, and marketing/PR professionals. Provides support, resources, and marketing plans for freelancers. World Cup Coffee (corner of NW 18th & Glisan). Noon-2:00 p.m. on 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Limited to 10 people. $125 membership for six months or $25 per month.

Resume & Interview Preparation
Resume Consultation: Includes feedback on current resume, suggested revisions, and review of revisions. $75

Targeted Resume Package & Disk: I write and format the resume after an individual interview with you. $150

Interview Strategy and Practice: Includes one individual session to plan resume strategy and one practice session. Emphasizes practice of PAR (Problem/Action/Results) stories. $110

Interview Clinic (up to five participants): Includes two small group sessions. $50

1st session: Design interview strategy and examples in a PAR format,
2nd session: Practice interviews with kind, helpful feedback.
